Specialisations: environmental and energy law

Jan Kořán and his team of attorneys have long focused on electrical power engineering, heating and gas and environmental law. As an expert, he deals with the issues of “traditional” energy, support for renewable energy sources and radioactive waste repositories. With regard to the environment, his domains are mainly waste management and packaging, where he also had the opportunity to influence the creation of legislation.

Expertise in energy law:

supply of electricity, gas and heat
​​regulated activities in the energy sector and support for renewable resources
preparing legal analyses and giving advice in energy law in the broadest sense
representation in proceedings before the Energy Regulatory Office, the State Energy Inspection and courts
legal due diligence

Expertise in environmental law:

waste and packaging, take-back of selected products
building permit procedures and environmental impact assessment (EIA) processes
area subject to the Atomic Act regulation
representation before administrative bodies such as the Czech Environmental Inspectorate and courts

Professional activity: Jan Kořán publishes in professional periodicals and is a co-author of the only commentary on the Energy Act so far (published by Wolters Kluwer ČR, a.s., 2016). He is a member of the Remonstrance Committee of the Energy Regulatory Office. He demonstrates his expertise in representing clients in lawsuits and proceedings before administrative authorities (Energy Regulatory Office, Ministry of the Environment, Czech Environmental Inspectorate, etc.).

He is a Šumava mountain “Sherpa”.
